Tales on the Trails Pet Walkathon
Sep 20, 2009 - The Humane Society’s 19th annual pet walk-a-thon, being host by Tram and his favourite human, AM800’s Mike Kakuk - is scheduled at Malden Park on Sunday, September 20 with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. This fundraiser is the Humane Society’s biggest event each year and features vendor booths, canine agility demonstrations, a microchip clinic ($25 per animal), a bbq and children’s entertainment area.
New this year is “paw”casso pet painting - for a $5 donation, your pet can step into a tin of paint and walk along a canvas to help create a one-of-a-kind piece of art which will ultimately hang in our new visitation and adoption area! We’ll also feature the Canine Good Neighbour Evaluation which is based on the bond that exists between a dog and their handler. It is a series of basic exercises to demonstrate the dog’s good manners in everyday situations.
