Windsor Spitfires vs Media All Stars Charity Softball Game

Windsor, Ontario – August 4th, 2009 - The Windsor Spitfires and the Media All-Stars will compete
in a home run derby and a charity 3-pitch softball game on Saturday August 15th at the Riverside
Baseball Park. Game time is 7:30 pm.

Riverside Minor Baseball will host the event at their complex at 6865 Ontario Street (behind the now
closed Riverside Arena), in conjunction with their Day of Champions. “It will be exciting to see the
Spitfires transform their on-ice magic and power to the ball field” states RMBA Event coordinator,
Bill Kell.

Many of the Spitfire players and staff are confirmed to compete including Josh Unice, Harry Young
and Eric Wellwood. It is anticipated however, the Spitfires will not have an easy time of it, as the Media All-Stars will be formidable opponents led by previous home run king, A Channel’s Bob Bellacicco, AM 800’s Paul McDonald, Spitfire radio play-by-play Mike Miller, the Cogeco TV broadcast team of Domenic Papa, Bill Kelso and Kara Ro and Matt Dumouchelle from 95.1 and 100.7 The Rock. Other media invited and sure to play havoc with any Spitfire belief of an easy win, are AM800’s Steve Bell, Mike Kakuk and Lisa Williams, along with CBC TV’s Tony Doucette, Windsor Star’s Mary Caton,
Bob Duff, Jim Parker and Dave Waddell.

The Spitfires will be available to sign autographs and also, on display, will be the Memorial Cup for
the CHL championship team, the J. Ross Robertson Cup trophy for the OHL playoff championship
team and the Wayne Gretzky Trophy for the Western Conference Championship team.
Entry to the game is no charge, but any donations will support the Spitfire Foundation. Fans can
use the Riverside Arena Parking lots for additional parking.
