2009 Firefest
Aug 14, 2009 to Aug 15, 2009 - The hottest 2-day FREE Family event of the summer. FIREFEST is presented by Parker Construction. This is the 8th year for this sizzling summer event. This festival will attract firefighters and friends from across Canada and the USA for this regional stop. Friday features the Kick-Off Party with the Combat Relays. Teams will race and the top teams will win a prestigious trophy and bragging rights for the year. Proceeds from the event will benefit Transition to Betterness. The Toughest 2 Minutes in Sports. As seen on TSN, ESPN2 and Versus, the Firefighter Combat Challenge was developed to showcase physical fitness, inside and outside the fire service. Teams of 3 to 5 persons compete individually against the clock. The Challenge tasks are timed and completed sequentially. It will be a smokin’ event!
