Camp Excellence - Ages 8-14
Jul 27, 2009 to Jul 31, 2009 - SOE uses the arts and education to develop potential in children and youth! The School of Excellence is combined with Queen Esther’s Finishing School lessons, all designed to improve life skills, social skills, personal hygiene, grooming, manners and confidence. Camp Excellence Instruction will also include; Instruction in how to twirl baton flags (18″, 22″ or 25″ according to height and age). These are the small fast twirling style. There are four flag levels of awarded accomplishments. The camp is geared for boys and girls - all developmental levels are welcome. Fine motor skills are greatly improved through learning this art form, as well as confidence, physical fitness, team spirit and presentation skills. Flag drills include interpretive movements, scripture names, and verses for each movement. Physical fitness, healthy living and healthy meal choices will be instructed. Warm ups, exercises, and dance steps are practiced. Art project - decorating your own flag. Week 2 is August 17th - 21st.
