Transit Runs Detroit Marathon Participants To Starting Line
Transit Windsor will provide service to the Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Bank Marathon on Sunday, October 19, 2008.
Buses depart to Ford Field from the Windsor International Transit Terminal at 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. to bring participants to as close as possible to the starting line based on street closures. Return trips will depart at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The cost each way, is $4 or $8 roundtrip. The Windsor International Transit Terminal is located at 300 Chatham Street West.
Special Event Tunnel Trip Tickets may be purchased in advance at any Windsor area Shoppers Drug Mart store, at the Transit Terminal, or five Customer Care Centres throughout the city at a cost of $16 for 4 tickets.
Additionally, the Detroit-Windsor tunnel will be closed from 7:30 a.m. until approximately 9:45 a.m. Therefore, regular tunnel bus service is suspended between 8:00 a.m. and 9:20 a.m., and expected to commence at 10:00 a.m.
